Executive Course Summary:

The Lifting Supervisor course is designed by ADEPTUS to instruct on how to safely supervise a lifting operation to ensure compliance with the law and secure the health and safety of all employees and of those who may be affected by their actions. It applies to, but is not limited to, the following:

×           Legislative requirements for safe lifting operation

×           Duties of personnel involved in lifting operation

×           Safe work procedure and planning for safe lifting

×           Coordinating and supervising lifting operations involving mobile cranes, tower cranes and other lifting machines based on lifting plan

×           Correct rigging methods

×           Responding to lifting accident and emergencies

Course Objective:

 

The “Supervise Safe Lifting Supervisors” course is aimed at providing individuals with the knowledge and skills to supervise the crane operator in the maneuver of a load safely to its destination. The Supervise Safe Lifting Operations Course is suitable for aspiring and experienced individuals assigned as Lifting Supervisor in the workplace.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course, participants would be competently trained to be a lifting supervisor. He will equip with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure all the lifting operations are carried out safely. Know the duties and responsibilities of a competent person.

Who is this course for?

The ADEPTUS Crane Lifting Supervisor course is designed for Supervisors and Slinger Signalers who will be supervising lifting operations. This course is specially designed for personnel who wish to be trained and appointed as a Lifting Supervisor for lifting operation using any crane. And also would be appropriate for individuals with job titles such as: Line Managers, Lifting Supervisor and Foreman.

Entry requirements:

×           Delegates attending this course should be 18+ years old and be physically and mentally fit to withstand the rigors of training.

×           Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills

×           Be able to read and write English at a proficiency

×           Be medically fit

×           Minimum secondary level educated or Engineering Degree

×           Should have previous Basic Rigging and Slinging certification(s)

×           Should be able to do calculations required in lifting operations

×           Should be able to compile a lifting plan

Trainees will need:

×               High-vis jacket

×               Hard hat

×               Safety gloves

×               Protective glasses

×               Steel top capped boots

Trainee Assessment:

At the end of the lifting supervisor Training Course, there will be an assessment, which you will need to pass to complete the course by theory and practical’s. Answers are marked instantly and automatically on computer generated questionnaire, allowing you to know straight away whether you have passed. If you haven’t, there’s no limit on the number of times you can take the final exam. All this is included in the one-time fee you paid for the course itself.

Course Outline (Practical):

 

×           Carrying out a site survey to check that there have been no significant changes or additional hazards introduced from those identified in the lift plan;

×           Checking the access and egress routes of the crane from the lifting area;

×           Checking the load(s) to be lifted match the descriptions on the lift plan;

×           Checking that the crane and any lifting attachments provided match those selected in the lift plan, including the lifting capacities and physical dimensions of the crane;

×           Checking that the lifting accessories selected in the lift plan are present
