Course Description

This ADEPTUS designed 33-hour Construction Industry Outreach Training for anyone in the construction industry. The course is specifically made to meet the requirements for safety directors, forepersons, and field supervisors. This all-inclusive training program provides essential safety information on ADEPTUS compliance issues.

ADEPTUS recommends these training programs. These programs serve as an orientation to specific hazards to construction jobs that workers are required to undergo training for their safety and everyone on the job site.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognize the hazards of working in and around excavations and trenches;
  • Recognize the safety and health controls and preventive measures required when using electrical, hand, and power tools and equipment common to construction sites;
  • Identify, describe, protect against, and recognize employer’s requirements to protect workers from fall hazards, including slipping and tripping hazards;
  • Identify, describe, protect against, and recognize employer’s requirements to protect workers from struck-by, caught-in, or caught -between hazards at constructions sites;
  • Understand what is meant by industrial hygiene, identify methods of good housekeeping and the measures that may be implemented;
  • Understand how to use ladders correctly and safely to avoid being injured;
  • Understand the proper materials handling and storage and stacking processes that must be implemented;
  • Understand crane and rigging safety practices;
  • Identify preventive measures for ensuring fire safety;
  • Understand what a confined space is and the hazards working in a confined space;
  • Identify the health hazards associated with cold and heat stress;
  • Identify and prevent the health hazards of exposure to asbestos, lead, silica, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide;
  • Recognize the importance of receiving and giving feedback, and reporting on hazards

Assessment/Testing

At the end of each module, you are given a 10 question module quiz. Score at least 70% on each module quiz before moving forward. You have three attempts to pass each module quiz. Failure to successfully pass the third quiz results in being locked out of the course.

After completing the modules, you must pass a final exam to receive full credit for the course. The final exam is 20 questions long and tests your knowledge of the information covered throughout the course. To pass, you need at least a score of at least 70%. You get three opportunities to pass the final exam. If you do not pass it after the third try, you are locked out of this course and cannot complete your outreach training in an online format.
